My name is Denise Reyes and I am a 5th Year doctoral student at Rice University (Go Owls!). Click here to access my CV. I study Industrial/Organizational Psychology under the advisement of Dr. Eduardo Salas. My research aims to reach the individual, organizational, and societal level. I focus on diversity and leadership in teams, specifically underrepresented groups attaining leadership positions. In future projects I hope to address these issues through empirically-sound interventional techniques.
I am originally from Windermere, Florida (you can see the Disney World fireworks from my backyard). I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida in Psychology with a minor in Leadership Studies. I received my Master’s Degree from Rice University in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
I’m a huge foodie! I like my pasta al dente (because I’m an impatient cook) and my cheese in every way. During my spare time I love traveling and discovering new places. Outside of the U.S., I’ve visited Puerto Rico, France, Czech Republic, Mexico, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia, Greece, and Argentina. I can’t wait for my next adventure!
My life goals include:
1. Earning my PhD in I/O Psychology
2. Becoming a management professor
3. Traveling to all 7 continents (5 out of 7 complete!)
